Francis Lung Goes On A Journey With 'I Wanna Live In My Dreams'

New London show announced...

Those of you with long memories might well remember WU LYF, the outrageous, ramshackle, forever inspired Manchester group.

Well, Francis Lung was a key part of that, and his solo endeavours continue the spirit - but perhaps not the sound - of that project.

Matching bubblegum melodies to song structures hewn from some parallel universe, the songwriter has hitched up his flag with Memphis Industries.

Launching the partnership with a strange, beguiling new solo pearl, 'I Wanna Live In My Dreams' is a wistful, endlessly endearing solo endeavour.

Francis himself describes the song as "like a short Mancunian boy single-handedly trying to incite Beatlemania” - which isn't too far from the mark.

Director Glen Luchford is taking notes from the golden age of cinema, referencing the most iconic films of all time, including: An American in Paris, Cover Girl, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Singin’ in the Rain, Gucci treats us to uniform tap dancers, floor length ball gowns, fur (faux, of course) and headpieces befitting only the original silver screen sirens.
