Listen: Stella Donnelly - 'Lunch'

Stella Donnelly
New album 'Beware Of The Dogs' incoming...

Stella Donnelly has shared her tasty, satisfying new single 'Lunch' - tune in now.

The songwriter's incoming album 'Beware Of The Dogs' drops on March 8th, with lead single 'Old Man' providing a caustic introduction.

'Lunch' is a succinct melodic thrill, but underneath Stella Donnelly deals with the push-and-pull of life on the road, the endless anxieties of the touring musician.

She sings: "You’ve got plots and persuasions and time to explain / But I’ve only got time for lunch / And I get homesick before I go away..."

Stella explains: “This is my favourite song on the record. It was a massive team effort the night before I flew away on tour. A song that was only ever meant to be played on a single guitar and sung turned out to be the most intricate and textured piece of music I’ve ever produced. I wrote this about the feeling of displacement I get when I go on tour and come back and nothing feels the same. There’s a disconnect there.”

Gorgeous and unfettered, 'Lunch' is the work of an artist who subtle nuances are set against some arresting directness.

Tune in now.
